#15 – Even Realities: Purpose Is The Design Brief

Illustrated Purpose Statements From Around the World

“Balancing out the physical and digital and making both realities even”

by Even Realities, the Berlin-and Shenzhen-based startup founded in 2023.

Even Realities was founded with a clear purpose: to help people maintain a healthy balance between the physical and digital worlds. This purpose has guided the company’s choices from the start.

In 2024, Even Realities launched the G1 smart glasses, designed to deliver only essential information — no camera, no social apps, no intrusive notifications.

This was a deliberate decision aligned with their purpose with the goal to keep users grounded in the real world while giving them just the digital input they need.

In less than a year, Even Realities expanded its retail presence to 169 stores in 10 countries. This international growth reflects market interest in a more human-centered approach to augmented reality.

The product design also reflects this purpose: lightweight frames, discreet heads-up display, simple controls — all aimed at supporting, not replacing, real-world presence.

In a sector often driven by the “more is better” mindset, Even Realities has built its identity around doing just enough — and doing it well. Purpose is the design brief.
