#36 – Coty: Unleashing Visions of Beauty

“Together we unleash every vision of beauty.”

This is the purpose statement of Coty, the global beauty powerhouse with roots in Paris and headquarters in New York.

Founded in 1904 by François Coty — a visionary perfumer who redefined the business of fragrance — the company has grown into one of the world’s largest beauty multinationals, operating across fragrance, cosmetics, skincare, and haircare.

Today, Coty manages a portfolio of over 40 brands, from heritage icons like Max Factor and Rimmel, to prestige names such as Burberry, Chloé, and Gucci Beauty.

It leads the global fragrance market and continues to expand its influence in cosmetics and skincare across 125+ countries.

What makes Coty’s purpose powerful is not just the aspirational tone — it’s the invitation to co-create. “Together we unleash every vision of beauty” goes beyond marketing.

It recognizes the diversity of human identity and aims to democratize beauty as a form of self-expression.

In this sense, beauty becomes a cultural act, and Coty becomes a platform for empowering individuals to define — and redefine — their own sense of self.

The purpose has also driven strategic shifts: from sustainability commitments (like using 100% renewable electricity across operations by 2030) to bold campaigns around inclusivity, gender fluidity, and social responsibility.

When purpose becomes a mirror for the people it serves, it does more than sell — it connects, reflects, and empowers.
